Gabby knocks on his door, and takes a seat outside.

"Come in, Miss Velas," Dr. Lord calls out. As you walk inside, you see that he looks quite haggard. One hand is on a computer keyboard typing furiously, the other is leafing through various papyrus scrolls and Mesoamerican codices. He stops, takes a long gulp from an overlarge mug, and turns to you, anticipating your request.

Gabby sits down nervously. "Dr. Lord...I...um." she clears her throat. "Dr. Lord I find myself in an odd position and was hoping for some guidance. Given how my mother, father, and brother are I feel like I am constantly looking for family now. When I met, um, your mother and found out she was my sister I felt drawn to her. I wanted to know her to be close to her but given how you are involved and what she did I am not sure it is a good idea for me to try. Are all of them going to be like her? Are any of them going to be worth getting to know? Am I an idiot for trying?" she talks quickly looking at her lap.

(OOC: sorry for the delay, been away from a computer).
Dr. Lord stares for a few seconds, then takes a hip flask out of his vest, empties it into his mug of tea, and gulps it down. Then, he takes a SECOND hip flask from another pocket and drinks it straight. After a few blinks, he finally speaks.
"I am literally the worst person to be asking about her. We are discussing a woman who abandoned me in an orphanage and whom I hadn't met until I was a Demigod, and then only when she needed my help. I don't know the full story. I don't care to know the whole story. Basically, I don't want her in my life. She was a shitty mother."
He sighs, "However, if what I've heard is true, she might be a decent older sister. I know you made a good impression on her. She left an email address for you," he hands you a card, "I don't know how often she might respond, I've never contacted her myself... Just use your judgment, you're an adult."

((No problem at all.))
Gabby reaches for the card. "I just don't want to end like, well, like every other family relationship I've ever known." She sighs "I guess I won't know unless I try."
"Thank you. I imagine she is not favorite topic...much like my father."
