At sometime in the near future after our first Biology class (and his classes, etc.), Alex will go looking for Ren. Once he finds Ren, Alex will ask him, "Ren, is there something wrong between us? I apologized for yelling at you earlier, and I thought we were cool. But then you avoided us during Dr. Lord's class. What's up with that?"

Ren stopped, startled enough that he nearly dropped the books he was carrying in his arms. He gave a sigh of relief when he saw it was Alex, which quickly twitched closer to a pensive frown. "It's not something you did!" Ren was quick to reassure. "I'm just... not used to hanging out with people in class. I got used to hanging out with people on the street but never talking to them while at school, and I guess it sort of just stuck with me." He gave a nervous chuckle. "I'm sorry that I made you think it was your fault."
{{So, Ren may have have Charisma 3, but he still feels awkward in social situations.}}

With an obvious look of relief on his face, Alex says, "Well, I'm sure glad it wasn't something I did. I'm not too good with people, and sometimes...er, a lot of times...I've been told I send out the wrong signals, and um, well, I just wanted to make sure I didn't accidentally offend you or something."
After a brief pause, Alex tilts his head and asks, "But why wouldn't you normally hang out with your friends in school as well as outside of school?"

"Don't worry, if you offend me, you'll probably would have found all your private files on your computer printed for the whole dorm - maybe even the whole campus - to see," Ren said in a pleasant tone and a smile.
Alex's second question, however, made Ren bite his lip and look away a bit. "I'm a nerd... I have no reason to even try to hide it. And from where I'm from, most people couldn't be seen hanging out with nerds unless they wanted their own social standing to fall. It was really bad in high school, since that's when everything became a popularity contest. The only person I had pretty constantly was Murali, and people always explained it away with 'oh, they're brother's now, it'd look bad if the little one got beat up.' I know it wasn't the real reason why Murali hung out with me, but neither of us even bothered to try correcting them."

"Um, Ren, that'd be a pretty immature response if I were to offend you. And, um, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't work out like you'd expect it to. Though let's hope this ever becomes an issue."
"Well, as you know, Ren, this isn't high school. And frankly I wouldn't care if it was. I was thinking we're friends - I mean not like super close best friends as we've only know each other a few days - but still friends. Now if you don't want to hang out with me because of a good reason, like say you want to sit with a cute girl, now I can understand that." Alex says with a wink. "But, um, the opinions of people shallow enough to judge you as a nerd nobody should associate with - well those people mean squat to me as do their opinions. If they don't like my friends they can just shove it up theirs. So don't ever use that as a reason not to hang out together."
"Anyway, I, um, don't mean to be telling you what to do. I mean if you don't want to sit together in class, that's your decision. But, um, don't avoid me just because you think I care what idiots will think if we're seen together. I'm not Murali, but I do hope we're gonna be good friends. So, um, well, do what you want, but just don't worry about social standing and crap like that. OK?"
