Alex goes around to all the Scions, seeing who - if anyone - is interested in learning a new language. A secret language spoken only by the band.
[[No discussions are really needed here, simple answers will suffice. Though please feel free to add your character's thoughts on this topic.]]
So far the tally shows:
Interested: Jahiera, Ren, Gabriella, Sean, Liam, Alex Not Interested: Dave Maybe: Other:

Ren is Interested.
Ren's response when Alex brings it up? "So long as one can write it out in the Roman alphabet, I see no reason why not to pursue it.[/i]"
Ren is just iffed that his ability to read kanji is at around a middle-schooler's level and, thus, will not try to learn a system that didn't use letters he already knows.

To Ren, Alex replies, "Um, I hadn't actually thought it out that far. I mean writing. I just figured it might be handy in a situation where we could talk with no - or next to no - concern of being understood by anyone nearby."
"But now that you mention it, written messages obviously have their uses, and the Roman alphabet means we wouldn't need to invent a new font and keyboard mappings to use our computers. Hmm, not sure if it would be enough though. What about an extended Roman alphabet with diacritical marks if 26 letters just isn't enough?"

"I understand, Dave. Thanks for your time. Um, but," says Alex and then lowers his voice "as a Scion, maybe you should focus something into improving your learning capabilities. There are knacks that can really help out. Just a thought."

"Hrm...why not? I already speak one language most people wouldn't understand. What's another? "

"Sounds fun..I'm always up for new things....any thoughts on a kinetic/tactical language similar to that of a military special forces style? Hand signals and all that jazz? Could be useful."

"Love your way of thinking, Liam. And, um, yep, I have thought of it. I was thinking of a full language first, then, um, maybe a sign language variant like American Sign Language, plus a really short special forces type version."
"Though, hmmm, now that you mention it, it seems a hand language designed for tactical combat purposes could no doubt be linked to any language. Allowing development of both independently, so..." Alex voice trails away into incomprehensible muttering, then resumes, "So thanks for the idea, Liam!"
