Medical Records: Discharged Patient #OB-1K-NOB Date of Admittance 30 July 2010 Date of Discharge 8 August 2010 Name Panganiban, Ren Presiding Doctor Jenkins, Hayley Taking over the case for Dr. Mel, who's had an emergency with another patientDate of Birth 22 December 1992 Location of Birth Quezon City, Philippines Nationality Filipino Family- Panganiban, Makisig (Uncle) Appears to have raised patient
- Include Leela Duwark and her son, Murali Duwark, step-aunt and cousin to the patient
- No sign of biological parents
[/li][/ul] Reason for admittance into Souther Maryland Hospital CenterPatientcame into SMHC after being in a fight of some kind. Further questioning revealed several wounds that were at least a few weeks old, which means the assault was constant over a span of several weeks. Best guess is abuse (possibly from uncle) or torture. Why anyone would want to torture a kid like him, I wouldn't know Height 167.63 cm (aprox. 5'6") Weight 54.5 kg (aprox 120lbs) Severely underweight. Possibly due to incident that caused him to come to SMHC. Patient said that normal body weight is around 61kg/135 lbs, still underweight but betterMedical BackgroundNo previous admittance into SMHC. Records show that patient received treatment at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in 2007 re: broken bone. Arm has healed up nicely. Only other information given are shot records. Christ, this kid's got shots I've never even seen before AppearanceYoung male, late teens. At first look, I assumed the patient was a young girl (this was quickly rectified when patient first started speaking to me). Patient has light brown hair (dyed - based on what he said and his uncle's appearance, assumption is that his hair is about two shades darker. Confirmed, as his roots had begun to grow out during time at SMHC). Other than being underweight, his body is surprisingly fit. Evidence of slight postural kyphosis - told the patient to stop slouching, which seems to be a constant topic of debate between himself and his guardian. Also, patient is not getting enough sleep - severe bags under his eyes. Attributed to late night coding. Suggestion that he get a more regular sleep schedule was laughed off. It seems that, out of all suggestions given over the patient's stay, will be ignored. An irregularity has come up on patient's scans - wounds received due to the incident have been healing at an unprecedented rate. Unsure if this phenomena is usual; patient and patient's family has shrugged it off as unimportant. During check ups, I noticed that the patient wears a long rosary with three stars and a sun bead. When asked, patient began talking about traditions and history of the Philippines that I was unable to follow. Upon discharge, patient changed into nice slacks, sneakers, and a basic tee shirt covered by a nicer overshirt. Patient also wore a scarf around his neck, despite the heat. As this and several similar items of clothing were what his family brought, I assume this is the patient's normal state of dress. PersonalityPatient, despite the shape he came into SMHC, is affable, although was shy upon first meeting. Unfailingly polite, although did seem irritated when commented upon his... somewhat feminine appearance. Was back to smiling after I apologized for the slight. Patient was tense throughout whole first encounter - attributed to worry about the Duwark boy. It seems that he was the one to save the patient from the "incident" (see next page for full details). Once physically reassured that Duwark was alright, patient seemed much more natural in all interactions. According to a nurse on another shift, patient had a "fit" when asked to stop using his laptop. Upon asking other patients and nurses, it seems the nurse was attempting to steal his laptop. A report has been filed (see Report #Crv1251). Observation shows that patient often seems morose when alone. When family was questioned, they stated that it wasn't normal behavior. Few days after admittance, normal behavioral patterns were observed. Suggestion of seeing a psychologist re: incident still stands. BackgroundPatient born 22 December, 1992 in Quezon City, Philippines. No hospital listed. Approximately March 1993, patient is taken to mother's family home in Manila, the nation's capital, where custody was given to Panganiban, Makisig (18 yrs old at the time). Mother has not been seen by either patient or his uncle since. Father is never mentioned, all though when asked, patient sighs and Duwark chuckles maniacally (attempts to have him admitted thwarted by other staff members). The next nine or so years are spent in the Philippines - patient shrugs off time as "just the normal city stuff." Patient admits that his schooling was circumstantial - it seems that in his area, going to school mattered on whether the school was open at the time, and in later years, whether he had money to attend. Patient and patient's uncle move to America in the summer of 2003, when patient is 9 years, 7 months old. They settle in an apartment complex in Fort Washington, MD. Around this time, patient meets Murali Duwark, two years older, and become friends. Patient was home schooled for first school year, and then went to local middle and high schools, graduating as salutatorian of his class. During freshman year of high school, uncle married Leela Duwark, (step-)mother of Murali Duwark. The family moved to a middle class home in same general neighborhood. 18 July 2010 - Patient reported missing to local police while on a camping trip with family at Point Look Out State Park. No ransom or contact with family reported. 29 July 2010 - Patient found. Three hours later, early morning on 30 July, patient brought into SMHC for treatment. Requests to see questioning of patient and Duwark is denied. Doctors working with this patient are told to not ask patient anything related to the two weeks missing. Even if I wanted to, I doubt I'd get anything. Inquiries made to family members are met with ill-ease and dropped immediately. Patient may or may not be feigning lacunar amnesia - he refuses to talk to anyone about the period he was missing, frustrating law enforcement. Family takes this in stride, implying that they might know more than they are letting on. Requests to look into the Panganiban's home life have been denied and any questions asking the patient about possible abuse from his family has been answered with looks of confusion and a "you're kiddin' right?". Officially, lacunar amnesia has been put on the medical records regarding that time frame of two weeks in hopes to get the law enforcement to ease up in their questioning. The opposite effect has occurred. Patient was surprised to wake up in hospital and has recollection of the time spent camping prior, but any attempts to draw memories during the period between returns blank. Tests show no problems with short term memory, and other memories seem to be preserved as normal. 'Memory loss' could be caused by trauma from the time the patient went missing, or may be organically induced via one of several blows to the back of the head. Professional opinion is split between organic amnesia and faking. The patient is obviously hiding something. Medical staff and law enforcement have a disagreement over whether the patient should be informed of the true nature of his incident (although the details of the nature of the incident are unknown except by a select few). Family has opted to tell the patient an abbreviated version of the incident - the version that the hospital staff knows - and allow any other memories to surface normally. This is against the wishes of the law enforcement members assigned to this case, although the medical staff working with the patient are content with the decision. Family was adamant that the patient be allowed to choose whether he would view the case materials prepared by the police department. Patient stated that he will likely review his case after he is discharged from the hospital and has recuperated at home. Patient will be attending Harmon University in a month's time. Requests for patient to see a psychologist have been denied on the patient's request, although he did keep the business card I handed him upon discharge and put it in his wallet. I can only hope that this means he will consider getting help.

BirthrightsAme no Shouken | 2 | Purview: Sky; Works as a very awkward 3rd limb | A scarf given to Ren by his father, Izanagi. It appears to be made out of blue silk, with golden threads interwoven in it. Ren has worn it as a scarf, belt, or headband. | Magatama | 2 | Purview: Psychopomp, Chaos | A bright blue gem shaped like a comma. The character "恋" (the "ren" from "ren'ai") is inscribed within it. It is on a silver bracelet that Ren wears. | Ame no Dokuya | 2 | +1 Accuracy; Hollow inside that allows a poison to be stored within, which will release when imbedded into a target. | A rope dart (using the discus stats as a base) that has a passage from the Kojiki inscribed on it. The weapon itself seems to be made out of an ivory-like material while the rope is a somewhat mythical cousin to garrote wire. Ren currently stores a mild sedative that would do near nothing to anything with Legend. | Rezalino | 1 | Creature: WakWak (Supernatural bird) | A pitch black bird, smaller than a raven but twice as nasty. It was actually a gift from Sarasavati for his last birthday. Although they had a shaky relationship, the two get along well now. | Murali | 3 | Guide: Scion | A scion of Sarasavati, Murali has been Ren's friend since he came to America. Murali's mother actually gave Ren his first-level Visitation (it was awkward as Ren was only in his boxers). Murali can only be talked to via computer and phone since he now lives on the other side of the country (so say hello to insane time difference). |

Room 1103 - Ren's Side Ren's half of the room wouldn't look as messy as it does if Hank wasn't such a Spartan. He's not messy, honest, just very... cluttered. His desk is situated underneath the window with his bed across from it. The bed has a dark purple and blue spread on it, as well as lots of blankets. His wall is plastered with posters from various games (and occasioanlly books, movies, and anime) that Ren likes. They're switched out on a bi-weekly basis, but his posters of José Rizal, Touhou Project (namely Aya), and Sarah Geronimo are always hung up. He's endeavored to try and not put any of his more risqué on his wall (or at least not in very obvious places). Framed pictures of his friends and family, video game cases, textbooks, random programming manuals, other books, and a large collection of plush toys and figurines (see here and the sub-albums) make up Ren's shelf space. There's a lot of it crammed in there. Sometimes some of the plushes end up on his bed (especially Akira and Rin) and some of the figurines are on his desk ( the trap). There's also boxes of LEGOs behind various books and a small statue of the Crucifixion of Jesus. A lot of the figurines and posters are well-made rip-offs made in the Philippines and Taiwan, but he takes pride in the fact that he made enough money to buy all the plushies. Ren's desk space is taken up by two 20" monitors and charging ports. More figurines are scattered on top of the desk, used most often as paper weights. There's a lot of papers on Ren's desk, mostly code or essays he's printed out to debug (or proof, whatever, it's the same thing to him). There's a small whiteboard tucked away behind a monitor , with a large Celtic Christian Cross (courtesy of Sean) covering most of it, and several stacks of sticky notes. Beside the desk, Ren has a printer/scanner that he can use. There's also a PS3 underneath the desk that he can hook up to the monitor, as well as another pile of games. The desk drawer is filled with more games, various electronic and gaming magazines, and his hand held gaming systems. Ren decided to buy a nicer chair with wheels and cushions. The Ame no Shouken is normally draped across the head rest of the chair if Ren's not wearing it. The closest and drawer sets contain all of Ren's clothes. Pretty basic there, although the amount of jackets and sweaters is astounding. Ren isn't very fond of cold weather, despite living in Maryland for several years now. In the back of the closest, there's a very small box where in Ren stores clothes he cosplays with. He'd rather no one finds out about them since, due to being very bad at poker, he's got some... very weird costumes in there.
